Vanguard Dallas

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will the construction period take?

We take many steps to insure your job will be completed in a timely manner. We realize that your house is also your home; therefore, we set realistic goals and time-lines depending on the scope of your particular needs and discuss them with you.

Will it be a mess?

Yes and No. There will be a mess. However, Vanguard Construction strives to keep your house a home, even when construction is taking place. Drop clothes, plastic static barriers and vent covers are used when necessary to insure your house stays as clean as possible during the process.

What are my responsibilities as the homeowner?

Have a pretty good idea of what you want to do and what your budget requirements might be for the project. Be prepared to share that information with us. Remember, we're on your side and want to provide you with the nicest end product possible within your budget.

Why is it advantageous for you to know what my budget is?

Every client is different and every client has different needs. A fabulous kitchen to one might not be a fabulous kitchen to another. Simply speaking, we want to be able to give you the nicest finished-product for your dollar. If we all start on the same page, we have found that it is a much easier to satisfy your expectations in a realistic manner.

What is "Design/Build" and why is it better?

Design/Build relates to a means of construction that is becoming more and more widely used in today's mid to high-end renovations and remodels. Design/Build allows you to be more involved in the fun part of construction…the ideas. Your vision, your dream. A Design/Build project is the total package…we provide you with an Architectural Designer that will be able to work closely with you in order to provide a truly unique and individual construction experience. We call it "funstruction."

Most clients don't, some always do. It's totally up to you. It really depends on the size and scope of the work. We go out of our way to make sure that your house is as clean and secure as possible during the construction. Your house is secured by a site-foreman each day of construction when necessary.

Do you use sub-contractors or do you do the work yourself?

All work is performed in a professional, workman-like manner by licensed sub-contractors affiliated with Vanguard Construction. All work personally supervised by Don Wimberly.

Where can I get a Home Improvement Loan? How does it work?

We can supply you with several different sources and will explain the process to you in detail.

Can I do some of the work myself?

Sorry, but due to strict insurance restraints, all construction must be performed by Vanguard Construction Company Incorporated.
